Even when you are not sitting in front of a computer, an AI keeps sorting your email and building your documents in your place — with the web and mobile expansion of Anthropic's AI agent "Claude Cowork," that way of working is becoming real. Three points in the announcement deserve attention. First, tasks execute in the cloud. Even if you power off your device after giving instructions, the AI keeps working and you can collect the results later. Second, work started at a desk can now be checked on a phone and picked up on the go. Where you are and where your work moves forward are being decoupled. Third, the rollout begins with a beta for Max plan subscribers. This is not the stage for rushing a company-wide deployment, but the direction is clear.

Brought back to our own situation: Manila is one hour behind Japan, and some days much of the workday goes to back-and-forth communication with the Japan side. If a flow of "hand a task to the AI → it progresses during travel and meetings → check only the result" becomes practical, there is no shortage of work we could hand off — report drafts, weekly data cleanup, and more. But there is a precondition. Work whose procedures exist only in someone's head cannot be handed to an AI. The first step is an inventory that puts our work into a hand-off-able form.

Failure 1: Expecting to delegate everything, then souring on the tool
